The kit was very easy to install in the Roomba. The Roomba vacuumed MUCH better than it did before the upgrade. It clogged less and it held a lot more dirt in the new debris bin. I have 2 cats, and normally the Roomba will get clogged and stop due to excessive hair in the brushes. Since I've installed the kit, it actually hasn't stopped due to excessive buildup of hair in the brush cage. I highly recommend this upgrade. 16 of 16 people found the following review helpful Makes Roombas work SO much better, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: iRobot 500 Series Upgrade Kit, Black (Kitchen) I have two roombas - a 560 and a 550. I put this on the 550 and it is now the more effective vacuum. The brushes on the aero-vac (the upgraded) roomba are much less likely to get clogged with pet hair on the ends of the brushes, the dirt chamber needs to be emptied less, and the 550 is clearly getting up significantly more dirt than the 560 is now. This upgrade will make your roomba more hands off than if you didn't have it. You'll spend less time cleaning the brushes and emptying the dirt chamber, and you will have cleaner floors. I have a large, fluffy dog and two cats and I live in rural New Mexico. We have dust like you East coasters can not imagine and this upgrade has made a significant difference not just for the floors, but to the dust throughout the house in general. If your roomba is losing the battle against the dirt and dust in your house, get this upgrade. By the way... simply taking a kitchen sink pressure sprayer/hose to the filters is... Note, we have three cats who enjoy hobbies like shedding hair and depositing small granules of litter from their feet. We need all the help we can get from the Roomba. I noticed that the Roomba sounded slightly different, with less of a high-pitched whine to it. I kept an eye on it to see if it was visibly different. It rolled about as usual, bumping and turning. As it rolled from the wood floor onto an area rug, it picked up some tufts of hair from the edge that it had deposited yesterday while it still had the old bin. I was glad to see this. Normally, I go over a couple areas with the upright vacuum because the robot has left behind little wads of hair. It rolled into the corner over the dust mop which had a bit of hair on the edges and cleaned it up nicely! That was something new. When I emptied the bin upon completion, I had to show off how much the new aerovac upgrade had picked up... Read more |
